Labor Productivity indicator is released by Statistics Canada and shows the change in labor efficiency when producing goods and services. This is a second tier indicator and that means that little or no volatility is expected. However, it is an important one, as productivity and labor-related inflation are directly linked.

The most important things to take into consideration when looking at the Labor Productivity indicator in Canada are the following:

  • release date: quarterly, about 75 days after quarter ends;
  • release time: 12:30 GMT, during the North American trading session;
  • second tier data;
  • low volatility levels expected
